Good Samaritin was founded in March 2020, during South Africa's COVID-19 lockdown. Our founder, DAVID NAGIAH and his family were moved by the plight of families in need, who had lost jobs and were struggling to make ends meet. With a desire to help, they began distributing grocery hampers to families in their community, using WhatsApp to coordinate with family and friends. As word spread, more people joined in, and the organization began to grow. After several months of providing hampers, the team expanded their efforts, recognizing that many people needed more than just groceries. They began preparing and distributing hot meals, visiting different neighborhoods on a monthly basis to bless homes with good food. They also held blanket drives during the winter, distributed toys to children at Christmas, and provided water to areas affected by floods. As the organization grew, they continued to find new ways to help, including feeding people who had been affected by looting in 2022. They also assisted schools, orphanages, homes for the elderly, and homes for the sick, providing back-to-school starter packs, food, and reading materials. Additionally, they aided a center that was feeding over 100 children a day and helped to renovate the facility. At Good Samaritin , we are passionate about helping those in need, and we rely on our faith to guide us. With a team of approximately 20 volunteers, we have been able to feed or reach out to approximately 7000 individuals. We are committed to continuing our efforts to help as many people as possible, trusting that God will provide a way for us to reach even more in the future.
